Tools and Materials

I have used the phet simulations and selected a physic subject. I have developed activities based on the topic of bending light which is also known as refraction. In that simulation, there are three different mediums that can be used to see the refraction of light. This topic is relevant to grade VI learners as it is there in the science textbook. 

General Instructions

1. Click on "Click here" option: Click here

2. If students get "Redirect  Notice" then they will click on the first link. 

3. Once they are able to see the topic "Bending Light," click on download option. 

4. Open the downloaded file and click on "Intro" option. 

5.  Play and get familiar, and then do the activity.  

Activity Instructions

This phet simulation will be able to understand how the direction of light affects when it passes from one transparent medium to another. After students are familiar with the use of phet simulation, they will observe the direction of light under the following situations and write their observations:

1. When light pass from air to water.

2. Light passes from air to glass.

3. passes from  water to air.

 4. from glass to water.

5.  from glass to air

Follow up 

 1. What do you think will happen to the light direction, if it passes from air tyo air, water to water, and glass to glass? 

2.  Share their observation  

Implementation

This phet simulation will be used to assist teaching and learning. It can be used when there is no availability of visual teaching and learning aids. The teachers will also assign the works using phet simulation during their official leave.  

Video Tutorial (May month)

Tools and Materials

I have used the PowerPoint Presentation to develop a lesson on adding 2-digits using different strategies. I have used certain 2-D shapes like squares, rectangles, and small squares to represent the base ten blocks. I have also used tables to calculate 2-digits numbers using the concept of place value charts or tables. I have recorded the video tutorial using Camtasia where I could edit the video either to add the transition and take out the unnecessary scene or disturbance in the record.  

Activity Instructions

This video clip will be able to understand how to add 2-digits using different strategies.

Instructions 

Ø  Students will watch the video tutorial carefully.

Ø  They will try to understand the strategies of adding 2-digits as demonstrated.

Ø  They should solve the questions given after every topics, to check their understanding of that particular strategy.

Ø  After they are clear with all the strategies, they will solve few questions given at the end as homework.

Implementation

This video tutorial will be used to assist teaching and learning. The video tutorial can be used during inconvenient situations like the pandemic period. The teachers will also assign the works during their maternity leave or other professional-related leaves.

General introduction on Transportation video

I have developed teaching-learning materials (transportation video) using PowerPoint Presentation for grade V learners. This model will assist teacher’s teaching and children’s learning which will enhance better understanding of the concepts. It’s believed that students learn better when they are given hands on experience or visual aids like watching animated videos developed using graphics interchange format (GIF).

Activity Instructions

This video clip will be able to understand the concept of transportation clearly.

The following instructions are given while discussing the different modes of transportations:

Ø  This activity will carry out in the group.

Ø  Students will watch the modes of transportation on slideshow.

Ø  They should think very carefully while watching the show.

Ø  After thorough analyzed they will discuss about different types of transportation with examples.

Ø  Finally, they will share their point to the class.

Tools and Materials

I have used the PowerPoint Presentation to develop content-based materials that is transportation video. I have used certain 2-D shapes such as rectangles to build house, represent sky, road, ocean and circle to draw human diagram and then texture to represent sand on the beach. I have used graphics interchange format (GIF) to show the examples of different transportation like helicopter, car, and ship.

Implementation

This transportation video clip will be used to assist teaching and learning. It can be used as visual aids during teaching process and learning activity. We can use it as sample video clip to develop other possible learning videos in different contents.

General introduction windmill models

I have developed teaching-learning materials (models of windmill) using PowerPoint Presentation for grade IV learners. This model will assist teacher’s teaching and children’s learning which will enhance better understanding of the concepts. Psychologists believed that students learn better when they are given hands on experience or visual aids.

Activity Instructions

This model will be able to understand the concept of windmill clearly.

The following instructions are given while discussing the advantages of wind:

Ø  This activity will carry out in the group.

Ø  Students will look at the models of windmill on slideshow.

Ø  They should think very carefully and watch the show.

Ø  After thorough analyzed they will discuss the importance of wind.

Ø  Finally, they will share their point to the class.

Tools and Materials

I have used the PowerPoint Presentation to develop content-based materials that is models of windmill. I have used certain 2-D shapes such as equilateral triangles, cloud callout and circle to make windmill models and trees and grasses. I have applied animations (spin, free form drawing motions and grow and shrink) that enable the models rotate and move trees and grasses to represent the blow of wind.

Implementation

This windmill model will be used to assist the students learning. It can be used as visual aids during quiz competition. Since it is kind of animated learning model, this can be used as sample model to develop other possible learning models in different contents.

General introduction of the quiz game

I have developed quiz game on Multiplication table concept using PowerPoint Presentation for grade two learners. This game will serve as the assessment tool for children’s learning which will help in checking their understanding of the concepts. Psychologists believed that students learn better when they learn the concept in the form of play or games. Learning in the form of play or games activates the interest of learners and hence more participation in the learning activity. More the active participation of learners, better the learning will take place.

Activity Instructions
This Quiz game on Multiplication table will be able to recapitulate student’s learning and help them understand the concepts better.

The following instructions are considered while conducting the quiz game in the class:

Ø     Students will read the given instructions clearly and play the quiz game.

Ø     Students should think very carefully before choosing the options under each question.

Ø     They will not get second chance to attempt the question.

Ø      For correct choice of answer will get 10 points and – 5 points for incorrect choice.

Ø      The points will be displayed on last slideshow at the end of the quiz game.

Ø      The points will reset on clicking “Exit” button in slideshow.

However, students will play the quiz game again and again unless they get all the correct responses after the assessments are graded and recorded.

Tools and Materials

I have used the PowerPoint Presentation to develop content-based materials that are the Quiz Game on the Multiplication table. First of all, I have brought the slide master into the show by clicking on the view option and selecting it. Slide master was duplicated to develop certain criteria to show the scored points in the Quiz game. I have selected developer tab from the ribbon and inserted the label in the slide master to developed scoring platform. 

The very interesting and complicated thing that I found was writing certain codes in view code to enable the functions to show instant response on clicking the options button in the Quiz game. It was also to award the points for correct and incorrect answer alternatively. Finally, I typed the questions and options for the Quiz and created link to correct and wrong answers using run macro  option from action button under insert tab. I have used 2-D shapes to made few figures related to Quiz game.

Implementation

This Quiz game learning material will be used to review the students learning outcomes. It can be used as assessment tool for all the contents. Since it is kind of very interactive learning activity, this can be included in every possible learning activity. The Quiz game can also be used to conduct house competition and inter classes quiz competition in the school. Such application would be recall for senior and information for junior students in the school.

About Me

I am Sangay, student-teacher of Paro College of Education pursuing bachelor degree in primary education.  I am from Zhemgang and I have completed class XII from Samtse Higher Secondary School in the year 2015.I took science, in class XI I took both Mathematics and Biology but I had to dropped Biology in next level. 

I have five sisters and three brothers and I am youngest in the family. Two elder sisters are running shops and rest are house wife. Two elder brothers are contractors and one is Dzongkha language teacher who is also former student teacher of this college. I am only sibling who is dependent to my family. 

My favorite games are basketball and volleyball but I really like playing tradition game that is archery. I like green as the surrounding of our country is ever green. I love singing and listening to music like praising theme based songs to our king, country, and people. I love watching Bollywood/Tollywood movies as most of the movies contain the best life related morals.
